Why can’t people leave other people alone? Why can’t we mind our own business? Is someone else’s life really so fascinating that we have to pry incessantly into it?
There are stalker laws that are supposed to prevent people from following other people around, taking pictures of them and so forth. If it happened to the average person, then all sorts of nasty stuff happens, and people go to jail, or at least, get restraining orders taken out against them. As far as famous people go, this whole concept gets flipped upside down. It seems that although the laws still apply, they are not taken with nearly the same amount of seriousness. I guess that’s the price of fame.
But, (he asks with a puzzled look on his face) WHY is this such a big thing. Why do the paparazzi invade people’s lives so much? Because the people want to know, and are willing to pay money to find out. People have a morbid curiosity about other people’s lives. For some reason, it is more important to know if Angelina Jolie is carrying Brad Pitt’s baby than it is to do something for yourself. For some reason it is really important to find out whether some super-star or other shops while wearing shorts or long pants. For crying out loud. GET A LIFE!!!
In all honesty, I do not have any pearls of wisdom on this topic. This is really just a rant because the constant bombardment of this stuff drives me around the bend. I JUST DON’T CARE WHAT WHAT KIND OF CEREAL MEL GIBSON EATS!!! I just really don’t get it. These famous people are treated like they are better than everyone else, and often they behave as if they think so too. I can understand that a person could be admired, but this really takes it too far.
I guess what I am trying to say is that everyone deserves a little privacy. Famous people have to get on with their lives just like everyone else, so show some respect and get out of their faces. Live your own life. It is the only one you have so show it some respect instead of belittling it.
